The VST-interface still suckz.
Stutter-step-latency does not make me happy.
Realtime graphics update in Fabfilter Pro-R2/Q4 does not happen.
I guess, this can be done better, even though we are working with spectral data in the first place. A modern PC should be fast enough for this.
Using ASIO
When playing a YouTube video (why not?) and using SL to play something, SL stops working and has to be shut down via the taskmanager.
It works with WASAPI, though.
More bugs to come, I guess…
WASAPI is the default and recommended audio API with SpectraLayers.
Here are the changes with 11.0.70 (curious why it’s out already though, it was supposed to be released on June 5th) :
-fix an issue with Pro Tools ARA when shifting the tempo start in Pro Tools
-fix an issue when loading an ARA project in Samplitude X8
-fix an issue with a 15Khz tone when using Unmix Song in specific cases
-fix an issue when trying to load audio files on macOS 11
Improvements to the VST module are coming with 12.

Please, fix the VST module… pleeeease!!! Make it realtime, not only as an artificial “preview-mode”.
It would be so conveniant to set a up a complete VST slot for each layer. And make them run smoothly. This would be such a mayor improvement and bring SL again in a class of its own.

Well, for what it’s worth, I installed the update (on Win 11) and now SpectraLayers starts to open and then crashes immediately. I tried to roll back to 11.0.60 and that won’t start either anymore. Prior to the update everything was fine.

@chvad_sb standalone or ARA? Windows or macOS? Can you provide a crash report?
If ARA, try deleting completely the VST3 and AAX plugin, and reinstalling again.

I reinstalled Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable but no luck.
Strange, I just tried on a fresh, clean Windows 10 22H2 virtual machine and no MSVC redistributable issue, it works out of the box after installing SL 11.0.70 and Steinberg Activation Manager…

Try using Revo uninstaller to make sure all leftovers(every version) are gone and reinstalling from scratch
A solid rec! I’m all about Revo. Still same issues though unfortunately.
