Thank You!

It doesn’t seems in Steinberg Download Assistant as an update.

SDA does that sometimes, and I have no idea why. The Dorico update did not prompt me as available under the typical “Updates” section that appears, or provide any other notification at all. Neither did WL13P. However, if you look at the “My Products” section, it does indeed show it (on mine, anyway):

I’m sure there’s some logic to it, but I don’t know what it is.

So what exactly does “under the hood” mean?

Basically, the processes that the master rig is doing.

Oh,
really?

I mean, which improvements are now “under the hood” ?

Take it easy man!
No need to be so impulsive towards @Paul_Rat_Blakey (or anyone else for that matter).
He didn’t write the damned “what’s new” note.

Just pretend you’re siiting right in front of him, not wearing glasses, at a coffee table.
Enjoy.
Appreciate.
Make good use of the internet’s anonimity by being nice, polite, fun, sympathetic and understanding.
Who’s that mysterious guy that is so nice to everyone?
That’s about it.

Hey man, what’s up?
I asked a simple question and got an answer that made me look stupid. When I respond in the same way, you tell me to “stay calm”? I am calm!

I’m very active here on the Steinberg Forum, and in the sections I frequent, I’m known for helping other users whenever I can. Feel free to check out my stats.

I found the description of the “improvements under the hood” a bit lacking, so I would have liked an explanation or a comment from someone who can say something about it.

I think it’s great that you’re advocating for a friendly tone here, because it has been steadily declining over the past few years.

I hope we’ll cross paths again in a more cheerful topic.

Getting back:
Do you have an answer to the question?

This update is an essential bug fix, etc. update, as I understand reading from a post. I think more enhancements are coming from 13.0.20

Apologies … I thought that English might not be your first language and responded accordingly.

“Under the hood” usually refers to parts of the code that are not directly connected to UI elements, ie. parts that are invisible to the user.

No excuses—I thought the reply was meant to be ironic.

I guess communication also has to do with how you understand something and the “mood” you’re in when you read it.

Have a nice one

No.

If i had, i would have replied. As usual.

My undestanding of “under the hood” is the same as everyone else who has commented: undefined, undisclosed.

Glad we could have a conversation on internet behaviour.

Cheers!

In software development, we sometimes make changes that have no immediately obvious outcome for the end user. The expression “under the hood” is a common way to describe such improvements. These can include, for example: fixing a few misaligned pixels in the UI, improving processing speed, slightly enhancing audio quality in ways that are difficult to quantify or communicate, fixing potential or rare corner-case bugs, correcting text strings, or cleaning up code to prepare for future development. Individually, these changes may seem minor, but collectively they contribute to a more polished and reliable application.
