15.0.20 "One Track, Different Track" dialog missing

A dialog that I use all the time is missing now in 15.0.20.

this is what all previous versions of Cubase have asked when dragging/dropping multiple audio files into the project window.

Apparently this has been moved and now is a permanent choice in settings:editing:audio.

Cubase 15.0.10

Cubase 15.0.20

Not sure what the reasoning was to change this to be a permanent behavior, but it’s problematic on several levels.

-If I’m importing stems, I need them to fan out on different tracks
-If I’m importing vocal takes, I need them to all go into one track so I can quickly get them into lanes for comping
-if I’m importing drum mic files, they need to fan out in different tracks
-etc. etc.

I use BOTH options frequently in the same project.

I know you can change the settings to “open options dialog”, but it doesn’t remember your choices from last time, so I have to go through and tick or untick all the boxes in the dialog everytime I import files which slows things down.

Is it possible to put the “one track, different tracks” dialog on import back? Cubase has always operated this way and storing it in the settings makes things less, not more efficient.

No clue why they changed this. The implementation was already perfect for everyone.

Steinberg, if you really want to knock this out of the park, you put the old dialog back but make it this.

Hi everyone! I would also really like to have the old behavior back. The last Cubase version has great new features, thank you for this, but i noticed this issue immediately after the update. There is also a german thread about this:

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

It’s there for me. Windows.

in the settings - editing- audio section - on import audio section I believe you just need to change it from Use Settings to Open Options Dialogue?

Yes, I’m aware. I mentioned why that is still problematic.

I see there’s a hot fix for the PLE bug in 15.0.20 coming soon. Any chance this is being fixed as well?
