Here’s a fragment of a cello part from Haydn from the 1803 Pleyel edition of the string quartets.
Is it possible to do the kneed beams that were used throughout? I am not looking to reproduce every detail of this edition but this does add a certain flavour to the appearance.
Yes. Right-click on the note, Stem–Force Centered Beam.
For your own info, searching the manual for “kneed beams” brings up this result at the top.
What I find strange, and sometimes doesn’t allow me to find the function, is that it’s under stem and not under beaming…
Yes, this threw me as well!
