[2.1.30] Preload is not enabled but still taking time to load

When the project is opened, the last selected part will be re-selected and i assume that should be the only part along with global parts which should be preloaded right?

I have some global parts which are muted, i think this is also getting loaded which may be causing the slowness.

Can the layers (in parts) and stacks have a enable/disable option to stop loading that layer and stack? So the instruments on disabled layers and plugins on disabled stacks need not be loaded.

just set their output to (nc).

I set the stacks to nc, but I still see the waves loading icon appearing, which used to appear when loading waves plugins. I have a waves plugin on one of the stacks.

I see the plugins added on the mixer tracks for the stacks are removed when i set the stack to nc

Removing the nc back to the original output tracks is not restoring the plugins i had on the stack track in the mixer view.

I set the stack output back to the original output track and i closed and re-opened the project, then after the re-open, the plugins are restored in the track slots.

So looks like setting nc on stack output to disable loading of the stack and its chain of plugins is just a temporary option right? because if i want to enable it back by setting the output to a track, then the plugins won’t get loaded unless i close and re-open the project.

Sorry, it was probably misleading. Setting output to nc does not keep a plugin from loading, only from processing (CPU).

There is no way in VST Live to prevent a plugin from beeing loaded once it is added. A plugin is an entity which is either present, or not; the only thing we could do is prevent a plugin from loading its preset/state, but that makes it complicated and may cause stability issues.

Why do you create it in the first place then? Or just set the Layer instrument to nc. Global Part items will always be loaded, as they are global…

You may also save and load Presets, and Sounds (the latter includes the plugin), or simply drag/drop from the right zone Layers or Stacks.

This is my test project, I only use one part on the right and few parts on the left via global part. The rest of the parts are not used always.
The stacks are created for testing purpose and are not using it always.
Whenever a new VST Live release is installed I open this project and randomly test few things and see the new features and fixes and report any issue found. So each time re-creating each of these parts, stack is not feasible.
May be adding as preset is a good option so when needed i can load it back, i haven’t check it yet.
When adding a stack to a preset its routing tracks will get also created?
I wish if there was more youtube tutorials about VST Live.
