Yes, of course, 1.4.7 and 2.1.32 work fine.
something has changed in the preloading routine recently.
the big bug of this software is that often times new versions have broken basic functions, it is not safe to upgrade. beta testing is endless… I am frustrated by this.
@frankvenice I don’t understand why you got it offended, we are collecting here experiences and ideas. I don’t know anything about your project structure (e.g.: I personally and currently not using preload). But you know what: just forget my question
It has crashed in a SEND process. But we cannot see which process. In the last versions we improved Multi-Processing and therefore we had to improve SEND processing. We thought we fixed all related bugs with it But it seems there is still a SEND combination which results in your crash. I am really sorry …
… and we hope you can help us here. Can you please install 2.2.16 and try it with that one? If it is still crashing we would like to get the Crash-File and your VL project file (*.vlprj). You can send me the files with a PM.
thanks @Spork for your reply. I tried 2.2.16 nothing changed, it’s preloading that have random issue to load, when changing parts, or long preload…
i’ll send prj and new dump as your request, thanks.
Worth noting that 2.2.10 is the full release and 2.2.15 is only a pre-release version. After being equally frustrated in the past with bugs, someone pointed out to me that we accept the risk of pre-release software if we choose to install these versions. They are made available precisely so that we can find these type of problems before the main release so that they can be dealt with. I appreciate early access to new features and try and help iron out issues as/when they arise.
a) It crashes while you load a project and you have “Preload Parts” enabled, correct? Because this crash cannot happen with “Preload” only.
For a workaround, select “File/Preload” (not “Preload Parts”) and execute once with “Always preload” enabled.
b) Do you have “Multi Processing” enabled?
That is a bit confusing. We use “Preload” here explicitly for said function in the “File” menu. What exactly do you mean?
i wrote that mp was not enable.
i don’t understand 3 kind of preload.
i will try to disable preload, and enable only in prelod generic.
ps: NONONONONO. PRELOAD IF YOU ENABLE AS ALWAYS, AFFECT BOTH: PRELOAD, PRELOAD PART, AND PRELOD SONG
(in old version, as 2..1..32 preload song didn’t exist…mmm)-
crash event happened loading a setlist, with preload , in 2.2.15.
now, in 2.2.16, while setlist and preload (so fast, …mmm) seems to work, when i select one part, and switch to another, and another… (in stop mode), it crash .
the same switch to another song…
so: loading setlist with preload, select a part or a song, and again one or two… and booom crash.
