Are you connected to the internet when you start the preload? I ask because at one point, when I started the preload from my laptop (the one I use only for live shows), if I wasn’t connected to the internet, the preload would get stuck. I assumed it had to do with some kind of authorization. Then I would connect to the internet, and the preload would work as expected. Then I would disconnect and the error would no longer occur.
Yes, I think the same. But just in case, I got into the habit of connecting my laptop to the internet first, and pre-loading a setlist. Then I disconnect.
But in that case I would have expected version 2.1.36 to be stuck on preload, too - it’s using the same project with the same plugins.
And the preload always gets stuck in different songs - with a license problem for a specific plugin I would have expected a reproducible behavior.
I have installed and launched VST Live with full internet access available.
A couple of my plugins (EastWest, UA and Strymon) use iLok, however I have all licenses available offline, either as machine activations or on an USB-C iLok key to avoid the need for internet connectivity. Also checked the iLok License Manager, I have the lastest version installed, no updates available (on Mac).
There were updates to most UA plugins yesterday and I think one release note was “improve DAW compatibility” so I decided to do another test:
First launched 2.1.36 with my project, everything working, preload works fine
Stopped 2.1.36 and installed 2.2
Launched 2.2 with the same project, stuck again
Tried this three times, always stuck in different songs for preload
Downgraded to 2.1.36 - all fine again
So unfortunately this still looks like a 2.2 problem to me.
Upssss! That is bad news… @ChKK can you try this with a blank project with 1-2songs with 1-1wav files and 1-2 stock plugins/instruments, just for testing?
