21/8 Time

Have any of you ever used or seen a 21/8 time signature? I know it sounds odd, but 12/8 is really 4 in triplets and I have a section that needs to be 7 in triplets.

A google search comes up with some 21/8 pieces but they are all very syncopated. I mainly just don’t want to sustain notes longer than needed.

If the bar seems too long, how about an aggregate 12/8 | 9/8? (You can still display it as 21/8)

The melody is fairly straightforward. I just want alternate phrases to start sooner.
