3/4 as 6/8

Hi
First - English is not my first language, so I hope you´ll understand!
I´m new with Dorico (I come from Finale and most recently (since I´ve been too lazy to learn Dorico) I´ve been writing choir arrangements in Guitar pro instead - crazy, I know! )
Well, here is my question:
I have a song in 3/4 and I want the notes to beam as follows:
(8. 8. 8 8)
No matter how I try it always displays the notes as:
(8. 16(tie)8 8 8)

The only way to make the notes show as I want them to is to change the time signature to 6/8… But the feel of the song is 3/4 - so I don´t wantthe time signature to be 6/8.
Is there any work arounds?

Welcome.

The standard way to do this is:
In your 2nd bar enter a time signature 6/8 and hide it (there’s a toggle in the lower properties panel).
In your 1st bar, use force duration to create the second dotted note.

Hi! Thanks! That makes sense!
I found the hide TS- thing…
But, where do I find force duration?

Toggle force duration using O (or click the clamp icon on the left panel)

Thanx!!! I found it!
Now I have big hopes that I will learn to love Dorico eventually !

I highly suggest that you invest the time to do the First Steps tutorial, and watch various tutorial YouTube videos on the Dorico channel. The time you spend learning about the program will reap multiple dividends in saving time and frustration. Knowledge of any other music program (DAW or notation) will be helpful in learn Dorico. Plan to start from scratch… but the results are impressive.
