I was quite surprised that the installation routine gave me only the either or possibility to install Halion 4 update. Is there any hint to install both 32 and 64 bit variants as it seems so that it’s not supported by default?

Install one first, then the other. The reason why they are separated is because some may not want to have both versions installed.
