- 3db loudness difference with pink noise

I was reading an article on a website about loudness:

He says that some DAWs and meters use the wrong method to measure RMS for music. He gives a wav file of pink noise to test this and I found out that the Cubase 7.5 I have is calibrated “wrong” measuring loudness off by 3 db.

This is the youtube video of it:

Does anyone know more about this?
Is there a “wrong” setting in Cubase?

Thanks!

Do you have the panning law set at 3db by any chance?

You are right. It was set at -3db. When I put it at 0db, then it seemed to read the wav file correctly.

Interesting.

Thanks
