So I’m running Buttersynth as an AUV3 and carefully automating some of the parameters using the Apple Pencil while playing the track on a loop so that I can hear my changes incrementally. After less than 5 minutes the synth stops playing anything so I’ve assumed it crashed internally.
If I quit and re-open Cubasis it appears my work is preserved. If I go to the synth instrument within Cubasis (this is what I did the second time it stopped working), the area where the plugin usually shows appears blank. I tap another synth and it loads another synth erasing all my automation work on Buttersynth. Then I press undo to try and revert to the synth I was working on and it doesn’t revert me to where I was, effectively destroying my work.
This appears to be an unstable work environment for creating anything that matters. Any tips on how this could be avoided? Is this a Cubasis bug? A Buttersynth bug? An issue with AUV3s?
Please share the issue with the Buttersynth app vendor. We’re at hand to have them equipped with a Cubasis promo code for testing purposes, if required.
Hi pedestriantactics,
I contacted the ButterSynth developer on 20th December 2024 with my bug report of the app not producing any audio when mixing down a project since updating the iPad to OS18, he informed me he will look into it and fix the bug, hopefully this will stop other issues with BS.

Not sure if you have seen my private message (envelope in top right corner of screen), but just in case you haven’t read it, here is the contact email address for Arto
Hi pedestriantactics,
I have just read on the LoopyPro forum that a new Beta version of ButterSynth is to be released at the end if this month, so fingers crossed a new update will be available soon

TIP: Duplicate your track, then load a new synth into the Duplicate track. The track Duplicate includes your automation! I tested this and verified it before posting this Tip. Cubasis will be a stable work environment for you using this Tip.
