4 Cue mixes are not enough

When recording a band I need more Cue mixes. Is there a reason why Steinberg is limiting us to only 4?
I wish we could create Cue mixes being limited to the amount of outputs we have, just like in any regular Input or Output track.

When working with ADAT/MADI/DANTE we can easily can get more outputs to be used for that.

I guess it’s a performance thing of the past.
The safe way to do this is using a mixing desk, but indeed, 4 cues are not enough.

In- and outputs are limited to 256.
That’s not enough for some of us.

I have been shouting about this for years. 4 cue mixes is not enough, especially when setting up personal monitoring in the studio for musicians. It’s poss to workaround using normal sends and routing to outputs via patchbay, but then there’s the prob of not being able to route CR talkback to these. Please Steinberg give us more cue sends.

but hey, we have 16 inserts per track !
real “pro” can manage with 2 cue mixes.
you know, “less is more”…
…end of sarcasm.

I agree with you 100000% man

I long ago learned to allow the musicians, at least bands, to mix their own monitor mixes. I’ll just send them up to 16 tracks to either a monitor mixer, or some personal mixing stuff like Aviom / Behringer , whatever the studio I am in has available.

I know that was not what you wanted to hear but… it saves a lot of time.

I hear you man, however since the software, code and ability is there, it shouldn’t be a crazy ask to allow using out existing outputs. I’m just trying to avoid buying Avion since the feature in Cubase is already there

Agreed… may the software gods hear the pleas.
