4k video monitoring

Hi to all members !
I didn’t found much to read about this subject except that it was still not possible, and not a priority for the developpers, but i really need to be able to mount audio, monitoring 4k vidéo !

If i want to really good sync video with audio, i should not have to reduce the resolution of the images
It’s a pain when you have an efficient system and a lost of time anyway
Context exemple : I filmed a band live with 3 4k cams and have first to mount audio in cubase, before i can mount the video in an other soft, Resolve in my case.
But I can’t !
4k is the minimal resolution to obtain a correct result in HD, if you want to zoom in, or crop the images
I think pros in 2024 are working with much bigger resolution, as 6 or 8k or more…
For me it’s a priority !
So please don’t wait !

Why can’t yoy work with a smaller resolution in Cubase and then switch back to full resolution at the end? That’s how ‘pros’ have been working for decades, even in video editing software.

I do sound design and mixing for a living and request a 720p imagefrom my clients. This way i’m not wasting resources on video.

If needed, i use Shutter Encoder to convert my videos

But ymmv.

Ho man,
I know i can do it on much other ways, i also can do the sound without the video…
I know i can convert videos and i even did it yesterday after i wrote this message but the result was bad again…
After loosing my time doing it, i came back in cubase, sync the sound of the video with the sound of cubase, and the images was a bit quirky at the begin and more at the end…
I don’t need to save resources in my case (look at my technical sheet in my profile), i just want an actualized soft !
I also know that i can leave cubase for an other soft, i even can do everyting in Resolve but that’s not my goal !
I love working with cubase and i do it since the very begining, so that i have now a very good workflow for sound. But every time i had to handle videos, it was a pain, partly cause of my system, and since those last years by cubase fault…
I think that’s not such a great work to integrate this function, for the money i spended since 1996…
Anyway that’s my wish…
