5/4 with internal dashed barline (3+2) but showing as 5/4

Hi everyone,

I would like to create a 5/4 time signature that visually appears simply as 5/4, but with an internal dashed barline between beats 3 and 4 β€” essentially indicating a 3+2 grouping.

The key point is that I do not want the time signature to display as 3+2/4 or as an aggregate meter. I want it to look like a normal 5/4, just with a dashed subdivision inside the bar.

If I insert a regular dashed barline, Dorico treats it as a structural barline: it spans all staves and resets accidentals. That’s not the behavior I’m looking for.

What I need is something that behaves like the dashed division in an aggregate meter (3+2), but while keeping the visible time signature as 5/4.

Is there a way to achieve this?

Thanks in advance!

Enter it as 3/4|2/4 in the measure popover , then tick this in the properties panel.

Result:

Note: It does not show the dashed barline in empty measures.
