I still find his EQ/delay/arrangement etc. related tips very useful and I think there’s a lot to learn for the not so experienced hobbyist mixing engineers like myself.

Possibly there are. But I just hate people who try to teach other people without proper knowledge on the subject … reminds me about one teacher in my university 23 years ago

Don’t know about Split, but when it comes to audio engineering: I am NOT an expert. I’m just a hobbyist. Been doing this for 30+ years but still … a hobbyist. But I DO know the technology.

Speaking for myself at least, the level of expertise is the crux of the biscuit, “Hobbyist” label or not. It’s all relative.
