6.5 bounce audio events

Maybe there’s a new of doing this, but I can’t find it. Previously, if i wanted to add, lets say for example, a delay to a snare clip and the clip was short, I would draw a new event after it, bounce the snare hit with the empty event. This would create a new longer event that would give room for the delay or tail if you will. Now if I try the same thing in 6.5, no new longer clip is created by the bounce. I have to double the snare event, silence the dupe, bounce and then add the effect. I hope I’m making sense here.
