64-bit Floating Point....please explain

I guess I’m a little confused by the advertising of 64 bit floating point for N8.2.

When Nuendo 1 came out and you chose your filetype, you were able to select WAV file at 32 bit floating point. (This made sense to me).

However with Nuendo 8.2, the highest option I have is still only 32 bit floating point. Is there a mistake on my system? Or, is Steinberg just blurring the lines on what 64 bit floating point is? Anyone who can shed some light on this, would be greatly appreciated.

Ah, I see. It’s the processing of the plugins, not the recording aspect. I feel enlightened. Thank you.
