Read a relevant topic and tried the solution given.
Preferences → User Interface → Custom Colors → Editor Area Background
Although I change color at the menu, the change is not reflected in the key editor color, which remains a dark grey.
Any thoughts?
Make sure that you’re clicking the correct square.

While we’re here, can someone post a picture of what that ‘Cycle Region’ colour in the editors does please.? Have never been able to get that to work… Maybe I’m just misunderstanding something.
All else is fine, when I’ve fiddled with the other colour options.

PS:- not that it should matter, but I am on Cubase Pro here
