A quick question about the layout. In this passage, the two flutes are separated across two staves; so I’ve changed the condensation settings to exclude temporarily these staves from condensation (I hope that’s the right way to do it, given that I can’t set a divisi for flute staves). So far, so good. I’ve adjusted the staff labels so that the name is centred between the two staves in the Engraving options (see screenshot below).
However, for the horn parts, I would like the instrument names to appear on each of the condensed staves (horns 1/2; horns 3/4). However, the setting I applied for the flutes inevitably affects the horns as well. Is it possible to resolve this issue? If not, it’s no big deal and I’ll leave it as it is. Thanks in advance to everyone.
It seems to work if you duplicate the horn instrument and use the duplicated version for horns 3 and 4. (If playback matters, you’ll need to assign horn VSTs to these two new instruments in Play mode.)
I haven’t really had time to check whether this workaround might cause issues elsewhere.
Ah yes: you probably won’t be able to mix the condensation of the two groups mid-score (like 1-3/2-4, or 1-2-3-4…)
Thank you for the tip, @charles_piano ; I have deleted my horns, and recreated them according your idea, but unfortunately, this doesn’t work in my score. None change.

And here is how you can recover the VST sounds and the expression maps originally assigned to horns 3 and 4 (assuming you’re using the default playback template — if you have NotePerformer, it’s even simpler).
Of course. When you said “duplicate”, I thought you meant duplicating the horn in configuration mode, which doesn’t solve anything. In fact, we have to create a new instrument based on another one in the instrument library, which is not the same thing. Thanks for the demo (it goes by quite quickly… I had to play it back in slow motion).
For the VST, never mind, because I have no sounds in Dorico (my choice).
