Abbr. Instrument Names remove numbers and transposition incorrect for one instrument

strange, I tried Trumpet (no key sig) too as a test and got the same result. How did you get a different one? You got Trumpet in C on the first and just Trp on subsequent?

I just deleted the trumpets and replaced them, then added a few notes in Trumpet 1 . Here’s the result.

And second question, is there a way to remove the 123 from the staff name?

To remove the instrument numbers from all staff labels, go to Library>Paragraph Styles>Staff Labels (Inner) and set the font size to zero.

I’d rather it say 3 Trumpets in C on the first page then simply Trp. thereafter

Edit the instrument names for each trumpet player so the Full name is 3 Trumpets in C and Show transposition is set to Never. Then edit the name of each trumpet player to something like Trumpet n in C.

After doing the same thing for the horns and trombones, it could look like this:
