Abbreviation of tempo mark in part but not in score

Hi,

I would like to abbreviate a tempo marking in the part for space reasons, but not in the score. How can I do that? When I use the abbreviate boxes in properties, it affects both score and part.

Your best bet is to set the abbreviated tempo mark using the tempo popover. Then in the score, drag it off the page and add a staff text for the full marking. You’ll need to drag THAT off the page for the topmost part.

Thanks Dan, I will try that. It is more or less the same work around as in Finale - I actually thought this could be specified per layout, but apparently not. [Edit: it can. See next post.]
