About using UR28m audio interface play video or audio on website makes Mac OS shutting down

I need a serious help.
I bought ur28m audio interface, before it was working perfect, now I’m using it to play audio or video on website (Browser:fire fox and safari),it (ur28m)frequently shots down my Mac (version 11.6.5 Intel),especially when I fast forward the video on Firefox.my usb driver is updated to [TOOLS for UR28M 2.2.2 ]and firmware is also updated to [UR28M Firmware Updater V2.11-2].
Steiberg should paying attention to this error issues and release a new driver or firmware as soon as possible.I used different Macs tested this issue and results is the same.and this error issue is quite annoying.
Thanks.

Above is about problem details and system configuration ,I changed"@“to”{at}",cuz new member can only @ two people.

I have the same problem since December 2019! I don’t use it elsewhere beside cubase!

same. Apple Silicon on Monterey using Yamaha driver 3.0.5.
Same crash report except it’s always CPU 1

Chiming in to say I’m also experiencing frequent kernel panics on my M1 MacBook Air, and appears to be caused by the Yamaha/Steinberg kext. I’m using a UR24C.

New Mac Studio M1 Max & Monterey, same problem with UR28M here.

Same problem here running 10.14.6 Mojave. Mac crashes shortly after connecting or disconnecting the UR28M. Switching the output to “Built-In Audio” and turning off the interface before disconnecting seems to avoid the problem most of the time.

For what it’s worth I have a M1pro MacBook that has issues with the Yamaha driver for my UR28m.
It looks like the Yamaha driver has somewhat been updated.
Under supported hardware the UR28m has been added and the message stating that support for other devices is coming soon has disappeared.

Is the same driver that gives problems, actually all versions had this problem and still have it

Hi, I momentary fixed the problem using the UR28M only with my main DAW and selecting the internal audio interface of my Mac as main audio output for the system only.
In this way apparently I’m not experiencing Kernel Panics anymore but I’m still testing. Hopefully they will update the driver soon since we are all waiting since long time…

Confirming that even with the new driver, issue persists.

I completely reformatted my M1 MacBook Air, clean install of Monterey 12.4, and have minimal software installed at the moment. The only kernel extension is the one from Yamaha.

I’m still getting frequent kernel panics – two in the last hour – and it typically happens when switching sample rates in Audition.

UR24C.

Hi all,

same for me, today 3 crahses! Mac Book Pro, Intel. Same issues with 3.0.5 and 3.1.1 driver version. For me happens mostly always when playing something with Quicktime player, moving back to Nuendo… crash! Sometimes even when running 2 instances of QTime player only, crash.

Super annoying! Please Steinberg/Yamaha!

Hi guys, thank you for your sharing your situation. As Steiberg did not see this words,i think we need to contact Steinberg directly in our region. This looks like hardware (audio interface)deficiency. And we can also consider this problem as Defective products,I hope that they can fix this issue with a driver update to help us.Now i am using it and it fails three or four times a day, this is annoying.

The driver has been updated 2 times since I have this problem

Hey there, I created a support ticket now, I hope someone responds to it. If I see no updates anywhere, I will update you here… Cheers

Hey hey… hmm, it takes years until someone is taking a ticket… I got response, but not really helpful, means… “Please uninstall and install the driver again.”. Yes, nobody has made this before haha… Nevertheless, it’s still open…

But for now, I got a Behringer Studio L ==> No issues at all. Half the price, no driver needed, no crashes, i can use both my monitors, all i need is there. No issues with Nuendo, no issues with Pro Tools.

Cheers
