I planned on upgrading from absolute 1 to 2 but now 3 has been announced with Halion 6. If I go forward with the upgrade will there be some sort of grace period for me or is it best to just wait?
Yes there will be a grace period that started 29 DEC.
I seen Steinberg said that on their Facebook page for Halion itself but have you seen it in writing for Absolute collection as well?

It says absolute 3 but Steinberg has confirmed to that was a typo.
