Absolute 7 pricing

I notice that the Absolute bundle has just released an update. How about an incentive price for people who already own Halion & Groove Agent?

No upgrade for Absolute 6 owners? 349€ cheapest. Really?

Absolute 6 owners get the update for €99,99

Thanks Jürgen, only checked on phone, but could not find the option. Have to check again when at home.

Agree.
I also own Halion & Groove Agent plus the things that come with Cubase Pro (Verve, Padshop, Retrologue).

But Steinberg wants me to pay 349 € to upgrade to Absolute 7 - competitiors like Arturia have much better offers for loyal customers.

I think I will not buy this, perhaps I will buy an upgrade to new Groove Agent sooner or later, but for me the whole suite is not worth to spend 349 bucks.

Found it :+1: srolling down can help :joy:

There is a crossgrade price from HALion 7 or Groove Agent 5/6

Hi Steve, I think @Marcabru and @bns23 know that and they know the crossgrade price.

The question was whether there’s a crossgrade for users who already own multiple products, for example, HALion 7 AND Groove Agent 5 (OR/AND other products).

(and the answer is NO  )

Yes, €349 is a high proportion of the headline price for the things that are additional to Halion & Groove Agent

Since you only need one pre-product for the crossgrade, you could resell the individual licenses of the other products you already own.

Yes. Price for Halion standalone is 249 €, GA is 159 € (to be fair, minus 60 € you have to pay for an update 5→6). Additionally, I have paid for Cubase Pro that includes Verve, Padshop, Retrologue.

I think 150 € to upgrade to Absolute would be fair, I wouln’t complain about 200 € - but 349 € is insane.

Sorry Steinberg, but there are competitors out there that have a fair upgrade policy. If you cannot give me a better offer, I will go this way.

Since you only need one pre-product for the crossgrade, you could resell the individual licenses of the other products you already own.

That’s might be right, but this is additional effort (and the risk that nobody buys it for a fair price) - and where can I see the details about this? Can I e.g. also use the Retrologue that came with Cubase as a pre-product and sell both GA and Halion Licenses?

You need a separate (not Cubase-bound) license for one of the following products:

Hi @P.A.T ,
are you sure that previous single licenses are not dissolved into the Absolute license, at least the one that served as a base for crossgrading?
I don’t know how they handle it in this case. If you crossgrade Cubade to Nuendo you keep the Cubase license. But that’s a whole different story, no idea how it’s handled with Absolute TBH…

Say you have HALion and Groove Agent and crossgrade HALion to Absolute. Then you could still sell the Groove Agent license, but not the HALion license. At least this was possible a while ago, I did more or less exactly that IIRC.
