How do I get rid of the whole rests that are apparently in another voice?

First, I’d turn on view>notes and rest colours>voice colours, so you can see what belongs in each voice.
In this case, probably, a simple select then right-click>voices>swap voice contents will be enough to remove them. If not, then edit>remove rests (but remember to deselect the rests you want to keep)
Yep. Thanks for quick response. I would LOVE to have written manual; if so, I would actually read it cover-to-cover; this is the way I learn new software. Grateful for this forum.

The online help (Help>Dorico help) is easier to navigate, and the search function works reasonably well.
