As you can see from the screen shot, I was able to figure out how to set up an “invisible” String Bass layout that I did not want to show up in the score (so it is not in the “Players” pane)l. How do I access that part to make any needed tweaks and then print the part?
Thanks for any help.

Lillie,
You are always so kind to respond very rapidly to my questions. I am still not clear on how to do this exactly. When I click on the String Bass layout on the right, it does not show up on the screen for me to edit. Do I have to first set up a player in the Players Panel in order to see this part?
Thanks again.
I check the Help and then went to thew Windows menu and tried to get there with “Next Layout” but it skips from the Tuba Layout to the Mallet layout. I am still not following a correct step.
Thank.
The Layout in view is chosen from the dropdown menu at the top (where it currently says Full Score)
Something tells me I am still looking “in all the wrong places”. You are not talking about the drop down menu just to the write of the “Print Mode” tab are you because I don’t see the String Bass part listed there.
If it doesn’t exist there, then that layout is not assigned to any flows (and possibly missing any players (I think).
So, is it possible to add a layout without listing a new player in the Players Panel? Maybe that is what I did.
You can create empty layouts. But since this one is named, you probably created it normally, then removed all the flows from it. Though I don’t see a String Bass Player on the left side…?
Let me play around with it and see if something pops up where it should be. I will let you know.
Thanks as always for your generous help.
Gary
I think I figured out what to do. I right clicked the Tuba layout and selected “Duplicate Layout” then renamed it String Bass. Then I right clicked that new layout and set the clef and transposition parameters. It now shows up in the instrument list you referred to before and I can bring the part up. Not sure what the heck I did before but it all appears to be solved.
Thanks yet again.
Gary
