Accessing notes and dynamics via the keyboard only

I’m trying to keep my work at the keyboard, so I’ve been trying to internalize all the keyboard shortcuts.

There’s one thing I can’t figure out in this scenario:

  1. I have a note selected
  2. I press Shift-D, dynamics popover is displayed.
  3. I write desired dynamic and press Enter.
  4. A dynamic marking is added below the note, and now this newly created marking is selected.

Observation: I press up to return to the note, but it doesn’t work as I intuitively expect. If I press left / right arrow, I jump between other dynamic markings. So I gather that they’re considered different “types” / lanes of information. My question is therefore: how do I jump between the two types of information?

Pressing Tab will cycle through things that are at the same rhythmic position.

In your case it would cycle between the dynamic and the note.
