Accidentals hidden in WRITE show up again in ENGRAVE

Within WRITE I used the Properties panel to hide some accidentals, but was surprised to see them again in ENGRAVE. I had to redo hiding in ENGRAVE to get it to stick. See attached dorico file. The hidden accidentals in question are in measures 145-146 where one layer has an E-flat and another layer has an E-natural. I wanted to hide the cautionary accidental on the E-natural. For the record, in Notation Options, I have “Notes on a different octave within the same bar” set to “No Cautionary.” In any case, I wouldn’t expect to have to re-hide something already hidden. What am I missing?

Hi Tracy, I’m not seeing it. There is a hidden E natural, but it’s hidden in both Write and Engrave, and I can’t replicate what you’re referring to.

I hid the accidentals in WRITE while working within the FULL SCORE view. If I switch my view to Bass & Drums, the accidentals show up unhidden. Is there a way to keep them hidden regardless of the view?

It’s because you had Set Local properties set to Locally. Select the bars in the score and do Edit→Propagate Properties.

Ah, ok. It wasn’t a discrepancy between modes, but between layouts. @jesele has the answer.

Yes, thanks for that. So if I begin my next session with “Set local properties: GLOBALLY”, will that assure that changes I make to FULL SCORE will propagate automatically? Or must I select all and EDIT > PROPAGATE PROPERTIES?

Yes.

Great! Thanks again.

Remember that locally can be more useful when you tweak things in the parts. Especially in Engrave mode when nudging things graphically. It’s good to always think about which setting makes the most sense.
