Accumulating bass clef signs

I seem to be accumulating bass clef signs.

The first one (bar 221) is intentional, though I was relying on the old Finale possibility of changing a clef and having that affect from there to the end of the piece or until another specific clef insertion. So I did Ctrl-z then selected 221-226 and asked for bass clef. That gave me a treble clef in 226. I selected 227-233 and asked for a bass clef. It turned the treble clef in 226 to a bass clef. What I wanted was to erase the clef. I selected 224-233, which gave me the bass clef in 223. How do I get rid of the extra bass clefs and how do I prevent all this from happening again?

Because you are selecting a range of bars and then entering a clef, it creates a restorative clef at the end to show what comes next.

If you want to remove a clef then simply select it and press Delete.

Thank you.

What should I do to enter a clef and have it apply for the remainder of the flow?

Select an item or position the caret at the position you want the clef, open the Clefs Popover (Shift+C) and enter your clef.

This philosophy applies to most if not all notations.
