Activating "Divide Track List" reorders all Sampler Tracks created with "Create Sampler Track"

Hello everyone,

I’m using the latest version of Cubase 13 (13.0.41 Build 256) and found the following bug (at least for me this behaviour is a bug).

When I’m selecting a sample (e.g. a wav-file) either in the browser or the Media Bay and make a right-click on it and select “Create Sampler Track” everything seems to work as expected.

Cubase creates a new track and puts the sample in the sampler and the newly track is created at the (correct) position in the arrangement’s track list according to the position I selected before. The newly created Sampler Track is shown in the mixer at the according (correct) position as well.

But when I now select “Divide Track List” in the arrangement view (at the top right corner with the “/” symbol), suddenly the newly created Sampler Track changes its position and jumps in the upper region from the horizontally splitted arrangement. In the mixer the order has also changed and the channel of the Sampler Track is now at the beginning (and the channel number has already changed).

This behaviour only happens when the Sampler Track is created with the right-click option “Create Sampler Track” from the browser or the Media Bay. When a Sampler Track is created manually (via “Add Track”) everything is fine.

So it seems that this convenient operation (which is very handy) with the right-click “Create Sampler Track” has a bug which leads to reordering of all tracks in the arrangement and the mixer for all tracks that have been created via this function when “Divide Track List” is used in the arrangement view (which is very handy if one want the arrangement track to stay always at the top). When “Divide Track List” is deactivated the related Sampler Tracks jump back to their correct position.

For me the workaround is to create a number of Sampler Tracks manually and then put the samples in there manually which is a little bit more time consuming and breaks my workflow.

Can anyone confirm this behaviour?

Thanks in advance,

Klaus

Confirmed. The issue has existed since Cubase 11 at least.

Hey,
thanks for confirming this behaviour.

I’m wondering if there is a change that this issue gets fixed in the near future because the problem seems to exist for a while now based on your experience.
I work a lot with Sampler Tracks and always use the Arrangement Track to build my arrangements.
And this bug really influences my workflow negatively.

Since I also use Studio One which works in a very similar way, I know how good and timesaving this “Create Sampler Track”-feature is.

So please give this bug a vote guys!
