I do a lot of writing with other people using cubase as the main tool for that. Tracking, composing, arranging as we go. An issue I have is archiving the details of the song and the guitar parts. My suggestion is that you add a guitar tab line to cubase. That just needs a library of simple chords and the ability to open a tab that lets string fret positions be manually entered in.
