How to add square brackets and instrument names in a conductor’s score ?
If I use the shortcut key Shift+X to add text, the text will appear above the notes instead of on the left side. What I want to achieve is the effect shown in the image below. Thank you very much to everyone in the forum!
If you’re using Dorico Elements or Dorico Pro, you can do this reasonably easily, though not at all automatically. Once you’ve added your text item, in Engrave mode, open the lower zone to the Properties panel, and make sure the Avoid collisions property is deactivated. That will allow you to move the item wherever you like.
For the square brackets, you can create note-attached vertical lines using the Lines panel in Write mode.

Thank you very much. It would be great if this feature were automatic so I wouldn’t have to move the text every time.
I wish it could be as convenient as inputting fingerings! (Able to automatically attach to the notes)
