After many hours I solved the problem by completely deleting a couple of the instruments and was able to add the Ivory Piano. Thanks to anyone who tried to help.
I am making a large Band Template consisting of mostly VSL instruments. When I open up the file, I am presented with the last instrument I loaded which was the VSL Synchron Double Bass. I want to add an Synthogy Ivory Piano now. I have not had any problem with other smaller files adding the Ivory Piano with other VSL instruments.
I now double click the Double bass window to remove it from sight. In setup mode I add the Piano. In Play mode, in VST and MIDI I check the plus sign and add IVORY VST and an Ivory window pops up. In Route Inspector and Routing I select IVORY VST and another Ivory window pops up. Once I select the piano I want in either Ivory window and try to play in Write mode, the Double Bass is played. If I click on the “Show Instruments “ cog wheel , the Synchron Double Bass window opens up and as I play notes on my keyboard I can see them being played in the Synchron Window. I have 43 staves with some having two players such as solo and tutti. I tried restarting the computer and that did not work. I tried making a new file with a VSL clarinet and Ivory Piano and no problem. Am using Dorico 5.1.40.2138 own a Mac M1 Ultra, 128 GB.
