I work with large orchestral VST projects.
Folder tracks are great for organising tracks, however they have limited practical options for automation, and MIDI CC control is not available.
In Logic Pro, I can simply add one CC automation to the main track stack itself (the folder track), which is then read by all tracks within that folder, giving amazing workflow speed and control. In Cubase, this is not an option and I need to copy/paste that automation 60 times to every track individually.
I tried an alternative method using MIDI tracks with MIDI sends, but Cubase midi tracks are hard-coded to a maximum of only 4 MIDI sends, and cannot be daisy-chained. This does give amazing control, but only to 4 tracks…
Here are two proposed solutions:
1: On Folder tracks, please can developers enable the automation of “all MIDI CC” directly on the folder track itself (in the same way that volume and panning can be automated on a folder track)
and/or
2: On a MIDI track, under MIDI Sends, can developers please lift the limit of MIDI sends from only 4, to unlimited. This would be a game changer for making faster automation edits across a broader range of tracks.
