I’v been thinking and I’d like to request that we have a way to locate the playhead without needing to change tools to something like Time Range Selection all the time.
If we could just press a (user mappable) modifier key and click to locate and keep using the same tool this would speed up the work tremendously.
As it stands, the behavior is kind of irregular: Time Selection locates with a click, Frequency Range Selection locates to right before the big bang. Selection tools locate, but then you can only hear the selection*.
So we have no alternative other than repeatedly pull up Time Range Sel., locate, change back to tool. Rinse and repeat thousands of times.
*And speaking of this, then the selection plays once, and you can’t go back to it again unless you click on the infinitely thin line on the top of the spectrum, or you re-select. If this behaviour could change too, meaning a ctrl+SPACE plays from selection again, this would also be great!
