Add Multiple Automation Lanes Selection

Hi

I am sure this will be super useful to lots of people.
EG you want to automate but not whilst playing and using a controller in real-time, but just open for example at once both cutoff and frequency and just draw automation.
I would use that on most projects. Please add a way to use ctrl or shift just like in windows explorer to select multiple entries !

I’d love for this tiny yet super useful feature to be considered please …

Thanks @Matthias_Quellmann

Hi,

To select multiple automation tracks data, use the Range Tool Selection, please.

Perhaps OP is talking about the Add Parameter dialog?

Martin I think you did not read my post correctly and did not look at the screenshot. I am not talking about selecting data but opening multiple automation lanes at once from the menu, as in the picture above.
Waiting for your comment. Many thanks.

Hi,

Sorry. So you want to show two (or more) automation tracks with pre-defined name at once, right?

I’m not sure you got it.
Think about a basic use of automation : changing both cutoff frequency and resonance for a filter. I don’t want to do those 2 in realtime with a USB controller or mouse. I want to draw it on the lane.
The problem is this is the workflow :
Automation lane> More > Insert > insert x > pick frequency > ok
Then same number of clicks to create the lane for resonance. A pain.
Sometimes I may want to automate 3 or 4 parameters on a plugin and that means I have to open and close the Automation Pane many times.
It would be so much more convenient to open it only once and ctrl click on all the parameters we want lanes for at once !

I hope this new picture makes it clear. For each lane opened I had 8 or 9 clicks. Times 3 or 4 this is long. The green box need to be revamped with a ctrl click if possible so we can load multiple lanes at once to be tweaked.

Cheers

Hi,

Yes, we are on the same page, now.

I was thinking, if it’s possible to do so in the Project Logical Editor, by writing the name of the parameter. But I haven’t found a way to do so.

Not worth trying, it needs to be implemented in a practical way that works fast and for all plugins and all parameters. I often automate this way and find it tedious to load lanes like this one by one.
Can this be added to consideration as a feature request please?
Thanks!

Hi,

Done. By adding the feature-request tag, you put it to the given pool.
