I added a bridge to a project that had already been completed. What a mess! How do I get the additional measure to flow onto another page?
Also, if you could point me to a YouTube tutorial showing how to make a bridge, that would be wonderful as well.
Thanks, Connie
Here is a screenshot of the “mess”.
My guess is that you have manual system breaks at bars 17 and 32, and the one at bar 17 has its “Wait for next system break” property turned on. That will force all of the bars in between those two breaks into a single system.
Try deleting the system break at bar 17, or turning off “Wait for next system break”.

The only marking is the “Frame Break” at the top of the page. My guess is the “Repeat Endings” I added. I would love to follow through on the “bridge”, but I need to know how it’s done. [sigh]
The only purple breaks are the FRAME BREAK at the first measure and the one at the top of the 2nd page. I just tried deleting the Repeat Endings and nothing changed.
Can you share your project here?
If you click on View > Signposts, you’ll see that you don’t have System Break signposts visible. If you make them visible, you’ll see that you have several system breaks, including ones at bars 17 and bars 36 with “Wait for next system break” enabled.
The two frame breaks in your piece also have “Wait for next” enabled.
Since layout should be the last thing you do, after inputting all of your music, I would suggest clicking the Reset Layout button in Engrave mode to remove all breaks for now.
That will let the music take up the space it needs.

Thank you so much. The song was finished. That worked perfectly. There are so many little things. I force myself to rewrite projects I’ve already done on Finale in order to learn Dorico. It’s a tedious process.
I appreciate your help.
