Hi, first post here 
I try to add a bar that has a whole note rest in between bar 97 and 98, this is what i get (see gif).
Btw, “hide rests before start” is not activated when i click the slash region to the right of the added measure. When selecting the previous rest i don’t see “ends voice” enabled. It’s grayed out.
Any other idea what could be the problem?

Hey Carl! What’s underneath the slash region? 
When I slide the slash region handle of bar 98 i see rests.
Just in case, have you also tried to select the note on the first beat, bar 97, to check if “Ends voice after barline” is not enabled?

Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately, i did check and the “Ends voice after barline" function is grayed out.

Did you also check the quarter rest, if it has Ends voice after barline Property activated?
If not, please upload your Dorico file, so someone can see what is going on.
Try double-clicking in that empty bar to enter Note Entry mode, make sure the caret is at the beginning of the bar, type Shift+B, type rest, and hit return.
