Adding a Bus in Cubase 7 Problem

Looked everywhere but can not seem to find any information on this issue:

  1. Running Cubase LE AI Elements 7 on a macbook pro with Mavericks.
  2. Plug in an Alesis IO2 Express and start up Cubase
  3. Choose IO2 as input device (not built in mic)
  4. create a new project
  5. Get a dialogue box about mapping ports and high definition missing microphones (select cancel)
  6. Make sure VST Audio System is set to IO2
  7. Open VST Connections and remove all missing microphone input buses
  8. Add new mono bus
  9. The input channel completely max’s out
  10. Remove buses and the input channel issue is resolved
  11. add new mono bus and the input channel max’s out.

Can someone please tell me what on earth is going on… its driving me mad

So you remove all input buss’s then it still happens?

yep… every time… its almost like there is a feedback loop somewhere… it was fine when I was using the trail version of cubase 7… I have tried another Alesis IO2 express, a different cable from the Alesis to the macbook… nothing seems to work!
