As a long time Finale user, I am having problems with the project info in Dorico 5. I can get the title and composer to show, but I can’t get a subtitle. I would like the subtitle to indicate the ensemble. e.g. String Quartet, positioned just under the title.
Also, I tried to insert the duration of the piece(flow), but could not manage it either. I would appreciate if anyone had a simple explanation as to how this works?
To add the subtitle, you need to edit the First page template. (Note that there’s one page template set for score layouts and one for part layouts, so you need to make this change twice.)
Once you’re editing the template, you can put the cursor in the text frame with the project title and add the {@projectSubtitle@} token, and format it as you wish. You may need to make the text frame taller, so that nothing gets cut off, and then correspondingly move down the tops of the other text/music frames which are below the top one on the page.
If you do move/resize frames, make sure you click the L→R or L←R button in the top toolbar to copy your changes to the other side.
Here’s what the template might look like when you’re done:
If you have the cursor inside a text frame, you can right click and then choose the token you want from the menu; duration is under Project Info.
Thanks so much for your reply, but I am lost even in the first step. I am not sure if I should be in setup or engrave and I don’t even understand how I should edit the first page templates.
Go to Engrave mode. (Presumably you are using Dorico Pro.) The bottom of the left hand column gives one access to page templates. Selecting the “First” template will give one an image like the one appearing above.
Double-click in a text frame to gain access to the text therein. This is where one can enter additional text, mostly tokens that draw information from the ProjectInfo panel.
There a tutorial for this sort of question that you may find useful…

This was very helpful. At last I have managed to get it to work. Thanks!
I watched this tutorial and managed to get it working. So many thanks for your suggestion.
