adding effects

hi

i recently got a yamaha thr10 guitar amplifier that comes with cubase le ai 6 and i have recorded some stuff and was wondering can you record something and then loop parts and use effects. i know how to use the effects on cubase but i want to modulate the effects at the same time when the loop is playing. for example if the riff is playing i want to fool around with the chopper effect.
any help?

Use the automation, click the W (write automation) button, that will record your movements once done unclick the record button and the R (read automation) button should be lit.
