Adding plugins to Cubase 10.5

Hi
I’m new to Cubase.
I’ve got Cubase Artist 10.5 and have managed to set up everything but can’t manage to add my plugins to Cubase.
I’ve followed online instructions but my plugins aren’t loading.
My plugins are on an external hard drive (mainly Kontact).
They show on ‘VST plug in path settings ‘ but when I hit refresh at the top right it comes up
‘0 new VST effects and 0 new instruments found’.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Are the plug-ins blacklisted?

Myself, I would recommend to install the plug-ins on the system drive. Just the large libraries install the the external drive. I remember, there was an issue with a plug-ins installed on external drive.
