How do I add a tie using the grace note? Selecting the Tie (T) has no affect.
Without the Tie, dorico plays the grace note and primary note as 2 separate notes instead of a Flam.

It seems that you either have to add an L.V. tie and then adjust in Engrave mode, or use a slur.

Iāve just tried it and it works perfectly for me.
In the first group, the tie was added after entering the notes; in the second group, the tie was added whilst entering the notes. In both cases, the tie appears correctly.
So thereās no need to use a slur instead of a tie or a let-ring tie.
I donāt think it behaves like this on a percussion staff.

just not sure why does not work. Tried both methids before asking. To me was obvious touse buttie does not appear. 
I think this was fixed in some Dorico 6 update. @deangelisron has Dorico 5.

Even in latest Dorico, this kind of tie in unpitched percussion does not display if youāre using a 5-line staff, which is what the OP showed, or in a grid. It will only display in single-line instruments.
Hereās a sample Dorico file using the basic percussion kit, with a tie between the grace note and the first eighth; the tie only displays in single-line mode.

No it doesnāt. You should give the solution to @asherber who gave you the correct status.
Your problem was how to tie a grace note on a 5-line percussion staff (not an ordinary 5-line staff and not a 1- line percussion staff, both of which are possible).
