Adjusting continuation lines at system breaks

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with playing technique continuation lines that cross a system break. On the new system, the continuation line starts way too close to the bar number.

This layout issue is caused by my custom font choice for the bar numbers, which requires more horizontal space than the default one.

In Engrave mode, there actually is a handle at the start of the continued line, but Dorico won’t allow any horizontal adjustment on it at the beginning of the new system. I haven’t found a way to adjust this specific gap anywhere.

Is there a setting in Engraving Options to force a minimum distance between the system start/bar number and the beginning of a continuation line? Or any other way to fix this without changing the font?

Thanks in advance!

(Dorico 6.2.30.6245 on Windows 11)

Don’t these work? And welcome to the forum @benjaminh.

Thank you for the fast reply. Sadly, these don’t work. I have hidden the repeated playing technique (vib.) if this is relevant

Bummer. Could you edit the bar number position in Layout Options?
Crazy workaround. Having a new Playing Technique with just a space as text at the break, grouped with the other two.

Better option. Create a Line annotation type text with a few spaces and use that as a continuation cap.

Thank you very much, that’s a great solution!
