Is there any easy way to adjust the playback tempo of a Dorico file according to an existing audio file?
This is necessary for transcription videos in which the Dorico playback must be equivalent to the sometimes changing tempo of an original audio recording.
In Finale this can be done with Tap Tempo.
I hope someone found a way to do this in Dorico.

Iām afraid Dorico doesnāt currently have a ātap tempoā feature, though it has been requested before and is something we plan to add in future.
Is there an easier way to change the actual playback tempo instead of clicking into the tempo box top right and then use the slider? It would be great just to type the tempo, now it is very time consuming if you need to adjust it a lot.
I actually preferred the way in an older version of Dorico.

Iām not 100 % sure if I understand, what you want to do. But doesnāt the tempo popover do that? Just type in something like q=120 or h=96.

Sorry Daniel, may be Iām drunk, but what is this:
The feature I love more, and I promote even in other Steinberg products!
Probably I didnāt understand somethingā¦
Obviously itās complicate if the Audio Tempo changes continuouslyā¦

Tap,Tempo in Finale is this: During Playback you tap the tempo (e. g. follwoing the tempo of an aufio file) and the playback changes tempo in real time according to your taps.
This is necessary for preparing playalong videos.

Oh! I see! I said I didnāt understand somethingā¦
I ment the constant tempo option on the top right.
Iām using it often to practice and change the speed of a passage temporarily.
The control was changed to a horizontal slider to be compatible with the iPad version. I never liked it either, because it makes fine adjustment harder.
Yes it would be nice to just type the tempo into the box optional.
Yes, this is the best way to do it.
