Adjusting the Appearance of 6/9 Chords

Hello,

I have spent a frustrating amount of time in the Engraving Options and Chord Symbol Appearance menus trying to increase the global scale of the 6/9 in 6/9 chords with little success.

My first attempt was to input a C6/9 chord, change the scale of the 6/9 to 135% and apply to all roots, but the apply to all roots option was grayed out. My second attempt included inputting a general 6/9 override, but I wasn’t able to select any component of the chord when entering only “6/9” into the “enter a chord symbol” override menu. Lastly, I attempted to enter a B6/9 chord into the chord symbol appearance menu and was able to alter the scale, but the effects didn’t take place in the score and it appeared not to save in the menu after editing.

If there is something I am missing please let me know. If there is a better way to increase the scale of the 6/9 on chords in a diagonal arrangement I would be happy to know as well. The only temporary solution I found was to manually and locally adjust the scale of each affected chord, but I would love to find a permanent solution as this will continue to be a problem.

I thought I’d reply to this post to see if anybody has any updates.

Is it bigger now? I set it to 150% just to see the change. I think you need to remove the 6/9 chords from the score to make the change/all roots work.

That definitely solved it, thank you! Just to double check for future use, you’re saying that you need to remove the chord types you want to edit from the score before changing them, then the new setting will apply?

I don’t use chord symbols that much, so others might know better, but I couldn’t change them before removing them. It might also be that they should not be saved as default. But now I think you can change them even if they are in the score, once the all roots is working.
