Saw Halion 7 on promotional sale for 50% the original price and was tempted, only to find out after some research that the free Halion Sonic that came with my Cubase 12 already has flexphraser built in.
… But I am not sure if it is a stripped down flexphraser. I have only been using flexphraser (without knowing it) in the past by loading one of those preset “flexphrased xxxxxx” programs.
My goal is actually to try and speed up my song arrangement process by utilizing what I would call “automated session players” so I can pick styles and quickly listen to (and use) the resulting clips instead of recording each note myself one by one (to form loops / patterns / midi parts etc).
To those who are or had been using flexphraser, could you provide your number one tip on how to best utilize it? Also are there other alternatives like VST instruments or other tools that you find are better than flexphraser in speeding up the song arrangement process?
Thanks so much for any input.
(… And does Halion 7 come with a more feature-rich flexphraser than Halion Sonic 7?)
