After recording a track it disappears

Here’s what happens. I record a track then stop. I can see the edl until I disarm the track, then it disappears. I can find it in the Media Pool, but this never happened until I updated to Cubase 14. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi and welcome to the forum,

When you right-click on the track and choose Select All Events, can you see something is selected? Can you see some values in the Info Line?

Thank you for your response. I will look into this more tomorrow. I think the issue can be traced to my controller.

Hi,

Are you talking about Audio- or MIDI/Instrument Tracks, please?

Good morning Martin,

Sorry I wasn’t able to respond yesterday. To answer your question, there were no values selected in the info line. However, something very strange is happening between my new SSL Controllers (UF8 and UF1) and Cubase. I have the UF1 set up as my transport, and when I hit the record button, it shows that it’s recording in Cubase, but when I disarm the track it disappears (still accessible in the media pool). Here’s the weird part, if I engage the actual transport in Cubase by clicking record with the mouse, it records and stays after disarming. Try and figure that one out hahaha. I appreciate your response. Thank you. Jeff

Hi,

Please, I need to know if you are referring to audio or MIDI/Instrument Tracks. They behave differently.

How are your UF8 and UF1 controllers integrated into Cubase? Do you use Mackie Control protocol or another way?

Btw, does the issue also occur if you use only one of the controllers?

Sorry. Audio track. The controllers are linked together and use the Mackie MCU default protocol.

Hi,

Can you replicate the issue if only one of the devices is plugged in?

Martin,

I just wanted you to know that I’ve resolved the issues here. Everything centered around the order of the port selections with the two SSL controllers. For some strange reason, when you list your primary controller in Cubase, it needs to be assigned to Port 2, the secondary in Port 1.

Thank you for your assistance.

Have a great day.

Jeff
