AI for Cubasis and the Behringer XR18

Hi Steinis…

I’m starting to have my doubts about AI…
I was looking for a DAW for a Chromebook running ChromeOS or Linux where I could record multi-track (!) with my Behringer XR18…

THAT’S RIDICULOUS, right??? Google AI:

"For ChromeOS (without a Linux container): Cubasis 3

If you’re using a Chromebook and want to keep your recording setup mobile and lightweight without enabling Linux mode, Cubasis 3 (as an Android app from the Play Store) is the best choice for multitrack…

Advantage: Supports true USB multichannel audio. When the XR18 is connected to the Chromebook via USB, you can create mono tracks in Cubasis 18 and manually assign each track to the corresponding input (Input 1 through 18) on the XR18."

Best regards from Braunschweig, Jens

Hi Jens,

Cubasis for Android offers only limited audio and MIDI hardware support.

Please find the full list of supported features of the available Cubasis versions on our Cubasis website.

https://www.steinberg.net/cubasis/compare-editions/

We also provide a dedicated hardware compatibility article here:

Regarding the Behringer XR18, we recommend contacting Behringer directly to inquire about Android compatibility.

If you own the device, please run the Google Oboe check described in the support article above to verify its capabilities with your Android device.

Hope that helps!

Best,
Lars
